II. Scope of Contributions and Content Requirements
1. Scope of Solicited Manuscripts
The journal is dedicated to publishing research reports, interim research communications, and high-quality reviews at advanced international and domestic levels in the livestock and poultry seed industry and related disciplines, with emphasis on new concepts, achievements, and progress in the field. It mainly publishes the latest research results in animal genetics, breeding and reproduction, animal biotechnology, identification of animal germplasm resources, development of new animal breeds, and related interdisciplinary and high-tech research in livestock and poultry seed industry.
2. Manuscript Content Requirements
Submissions must be original research papers that have not been publicly published and must contain innovation in certain aspects.
Manuscripts should present clear viewpoints, substantial materials, accurate data, and sound argumentation.
Review articles should summarize the latest research progress in the livestock and poultry seed industry, forecast development trends, and provide insightful evaluations and views based on the author’s own research.
The introduction should review the latest relevant research in China and abroad and explain the current research level, unresolved issues, and the research questions addressed by the manuscript.
The manuscript must end with concise and clear research conclusions or closing remarks that correspond to the research objectives stated in the introduction.
Length requirement: no fewer than 6,000 Chinese characters; review articles should include figures and tables.
Manuscript Formatting Requirements
The journal strictly follows relevant national standards and specifications. Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with current national standards and specifications; manuscripts that do not meet formatting requirements will be rejected or returned for revision. Units should follow the International System of Units (SI) and be expressed with standard symbols. For other formatting requirements, please refer to the Submission Guidelines of Chinese Livestock and Poultry Breeding.
4. Reference Requirements
Number of references: approximately 30 references for research papers and approximately 50 for review articles, subject to specific circumstances. References published within the past three years should account for no less than one-third of the total.
References should be cited using the sequential numbering system: numbered with Arabic numerals in the order in which they appear in the text and indicated in square brackets. For detailed formatting rules, refer to GB/T 7714-2025.
When citing the work of others, please indicate the original author’s name, title of the work, and source in accordance with the Copyright Law, and list the source in the references.
III. Submission Method and Process
1. Submission Channel
The journal accepts online submissions only. Please visit the official website at http://xq.aiijournal.com/ and click “Author Center.” First-time users should register before submitting a manuscript.
2. Required Submission Materials
Copyright transfer agreement: After all authors have signed it, photograph or scan the agreement and upload it as an attachment together with the manuscript.
Author information: Provide the names, years of birth, gender, professional titles, educational background, research interests, email addresses, and telephone numbers of the first author and corresponding author.
Funding projects, if any: Indicate the project category and grant number. The journal will give priority to publishing funded work.
3. Peer Review and Publication Timeline
The review process takes no more than one month and may be as fast as 10 days. If authors have not received an acceptance, revision, or rejection notice after two months, they may handle the manuscript at their own discretion.
After acceptance, the period from submission to publication is approximately six months.
After publication, one to two complimentary copies of the issue, usually two, will be sent to the first author or the designated contact person.
4. Publication Fee
The journal charges a publication fee. For manuscripts withdrawn after external review and editorial processing, review and editorial processing fees may be charged as appropriate.

5. Online First Publication
The journal has signed a cooperative publishing agreement with CNKI for online-first academic journal publication. Accepted and published manuscripts will be uploaded to CNKI in online-first form before formal print publication.
IV. Submission Conduct
1. Duplicate Submission Is Strictly Prohibited
Authors must not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals or publish it repeatedly. Two days after submission, the manuscript enters the review process, and authors should not withdraw it without authorization. If authors wish to withdraw a manuscript, they should send a withdrawal request to the journal’s email address. Authors shall bear responsibility for duplicate publication caused by unauthorized withdrawal and resubmission elsewhere.
2. Opposing Academic Misconduct and Intermediaries
The journal firmly opposes academic fraud and has never established any commissioned relationship with paper agencies or intermediaries. Submissions from intermediary agencies are not accepted; once discovered, they will be blacklisted. Authors should register and submit manuscripts through the submission system themselves.
3. Author Responsibility
Authors are responsible for the authenticity of authorship. The number and order of listed authors are determined by the authors themselves. Authors must observe state confidentiality requirements and avoid political errors; they bear full responsibility for the manuscript. The editorial office has the right to make necessary language polishing, revisions, deletions, and, when necessary, content revisions. Authors who do not agree to such processing should state this at submission.
4. Similarity Rate and AIGC Self-check
In accordance with national requirements for journal quality management, and to strengthen prevention of academic misconduct risks and improve the academic misconduct prevention system, authors may voluntarily conduct preliminary checks through the following websites.
